How to Join Vox Populi
NOTE: Vox Populi is not currently meeting due to covid. The future of the choir is unknown at this point. Sorry!
Vox Populi is a community, recreational chorus open to the general public. We provide a welcoming environment for singers of all abilities to come together and experience the joy of harmony singing.
Rehearsals are every Wednesday, 7:30 to approximately 9:00 pm. Rehearsal location is in Burlingame Hall at First Congregational Church, 272 West Spain Street, Sonoma.
The only “audition” is to verbally confirm to the director that you can "sing in tune", by which he simply means the ability to hear a note and then sing it with at least some degree of accuracy. This includes almost everyone. If you haven’t done much group singing, don’t worry, you will improve as you keep singing with the chorus.
Cost is a sliding scale, $10-15 per rehearsal attended, payable weekly when you attend. There is no fee for missed rehearsals.
Ability to read music is not required. Recordings of each vocal part are provided to members for learning and rehearsing their part.
NOTE: There will be NO Vox Populi rehearsal on Wednesday, June 19. The next Vox Populi rehearsal will be on June 26, when we will be starting a new concert cycle.
Thanks for your interest.
